Conference opener video

The first film your audience sees sets the tone for the whole show.

EXV plugs directly into your marketing efforts. We create the opener that plays before your first speaker, planned with your recap. Your main film's delivery date is guaranteed. Event films start at $15K.

We guarantee your main film's delivery date, so you can count on it for your premiere.

An opener should never be a logo reveal with a loud soundtrack and a countdown clock on the screen.

A conference opener video is the short film that plays on the main stage right before your first keynote. Its job is to quiet the room, set the tone for the day and hand your speaker an audience that is already leaning in.

Most event openers are a stock montage set to a drum hit, and the room has seen that a hundred times. Yours should be a stunning, cinematic film with a story your audience recognizes as their own: your people, your customers and the big idea behind this year's show.

That's the part we love making: the screen goes dark, the first frame lands and the whole room turns toward the stage.

What a great opener does, beat by beat.

  1. The hushThe house lights drop and the first image fills the screen, so the room goes quiet without anyone asking.
  2. The hookOne striking image or line that tells everyone what this year's show is about.
  3. The storyYour people, your customers and your product, edited to music so the audience feels the theme before anyone explains it.
  4. The buildPace and sound climb together, and the energy in the room climbs with them.
  5. The handoffThe last frame lands on your speaker's name, and they walk on to a room that is ready to listen.

Your opener keeps working after the house lights come up.

An opener plays once in the room, but the footage and design behind it can carry your theme all year. We plan it alongside the rest of your event content, so the same assets can become your recap film, your highlights reel, your social media posts and the clip your sales team sends to buyers the week after.

From the first storyboard to the moment it plays.

  1. We begin with your theme, who we want to impact in the room and the date your show opens. Our creative team writes the story and draws the storyboard, so you can see how your opener plays, shot by shot, before production begins.

  2. With your approval, we create your opener: we film your leaders and customers, design the motion graphics and build every asset it needs. When someone in your story can't travel, we have full remote filming capability, including interviews at the highest cinematic level.

  3. Our editors, motion artists and sound engineers shape it all into a stunning, cinematic opener made to play to a full room. Edit, color, sound and multi-format delivery are all part of full post-production, so nothing is left for you to finish.

  4. Your opener arrives ready for show day, and your plan gives every other finished piece its own delivery date too. If the main film is late, 20% comes off your final invoice.

The same people who write your opener also plan your recap, your highlights and the clips that follow.

Your opener is made by a creative director, writers, professional cinematographers, visual artists, motion artists, sound engineers and voice-over specialists working as one team. We give you updates and check-ins so you can focus on what you do best. Because the same team carries the whole event, the look and the story run from the first frame on the main stage to the last clip of the year.

Do you need just the opener for your main stage, or every film from the event planned together?

The opener on its own

Executive Film Package from $15K. One cinematic film for your main stage, with the full team and full post-production behind it. We recommend starting at least 3 weeks before your show date.

Inside the Conference Content Package

Conference Content Package from $60K. The Conference Content Package includes the keynote opener, a recap film, a highlights reel and captioned social clips. We recommend starting 8 to 12 weeks before your event.

Design work, a live shoot and the number of finished pieces vary the price, and your written plan shows each one before you sign.

Want the room itself in your recap?

A live crew is a camera and sound crew on location, an add-on quoted in your plan, and we recommend booking one at least 2 weeks before your show. Our team has filmed in San Diego, Miami, Boston, Washington DC and New York, and we can film live events anywhere.

Tell us your show date and who will be in the room.

Share your theme and the feeling you want in the room, and our creative director will shape the story of your opener around it.
